Communion Apostles - Ordination

In the Orthodox Christian Church, all members are called to serve the Lord throughout their entire lives. Certain individuals, however, are called to serve the Lord through the ordained ministry of the priesthood. The men who feel called to such service are invited to become participants in the sacrament of ordination.
During the sacrament of ordination, the ordaining bishop passes down the blessing of the Holy Spirit and continues the unbroken line of apostolic succession through the laying on of hands. This tradition was established by Christ and the apostles (cf. 1 Timothy 4:14, Hebrews 6:2). With the laying on of hands, newly ordained now enters the shepherding role of the Church.
May God guide those who choose to look after and minister to Christ's flock by receiving Ordination.
